Vector Editing

Kittl makes vector editing intuitive and powerful — giving you full control over every shape and detail. Whether you're adjusting an imported SVG or fine-tuning a design element, here’s how to master vector path editing.

Accessing vector layers

  • Double-click any vector shape or SVG element to enter its internal structure
  • Keep double-clicking to drill deeper until nodes and handles become visible

Editing vector paths

  • Click and drag nodes or handles to reshape your vector
  • Hold Shift while moving to snap to 15-degree angles and maintain geometric alignment
  • Select multiple nodes by holding Shift or using marquee selection — then move or delete them in one go. Tip: Select one node in a path, then press ⌘A to automatically select all nodes in that path.
  • Add new nodes by double-clicking directly on the path or by activating the Pen tool and hovering over an empty area of the path.
  • Remove nodes by selecting a node and pressing the delete key or by activating the Pen tool and selecting a node you wish to delete.
  • Snap nodes to nearby objects for clean, precise alignment
  • Double-click a node to toggle between a smooth curve and a sharp corner
  • Hold Option while dragging a handle to create asymmetric corner handles

Why use vector editing?

Vector editing gives you full creative control. Instead of relying on pre-made shapes or templates, you can fine-tune every curve, corner, and angle in your design. That means smoother details, cleaner layouts, and complete flexibility — whether you’re refining a logo, adjusting an illustration, or customizing an imported SVG.

With vector paths, your edits stay sharp at any size. No pixelation. No compromise.
