Teams (Workspaces)

Workspaces are shared environments within Kittl where teams can collaborate on designs, manage assets, and organize projects with role-based access control. Each workspace centralizes ownership of resources—such as files, folders, fonts, brand kits, and templates—enabling smoother collaboration, clearer permissions, and scalable team management. Workspaces support multiple user roles (Owner, Editor, Viewer), workspace switching, and shared billing.

Getting Started

Q: What are Teams in Kittl?

A: Teams let you collaborate with others in a shared space. You can invite members, assign roles (Owner, Editor, Viewer), and manage shared assets like brand kits, fonts, and templates.

Q: How do I create a new Team?

A: You can create a Team from your dashboard. Just click “Create Team,” give it a name, and start inviting collaborators.

Q: What happens to my personal files?

A: Your personal space still exists but has been upgraded to a Team space so you can collaborate. You can keep using it for personal work or invite others if you choose. You can switch between this and other Teams in your dashboard.

Inviting & Managing Members

Q: How do I invite people to my Team?

A: Open your team dashboard, select your team dropdown and “Invite Members”. Invite by email and assign roles (editor or viewer) right away.

Q: What’s the difference between an Editor and a Viewer?

A: Editors can create and edit projects, while Viewers can only view them. Both count as members, but only Editors will be paid seats.

Q: Can I remove someone from my Team?

A: Yes. Team Owners and Editors can manage members and remove them from the “Team Settings” page.

Q: What happens when someone leaves a Team?

A: Their access to Team projects is removed, but any edits they've made remain in place.

Team Projects & Permissions

Q: Who owns the projects inside a Team?

A: All assets in a Team (files, brand kits, uploads, etc.) are owned by the Team, not individuals. Access is based on your Team role.

Q: Can I invite someone to a single project without adding them to my Team?

A: Yes, you can still share individual projects with external users, but their access will be limited based on their own plan. The external user will not have access to Team assets (brand kits, uploads, fonts etc.).

Q: Can I move projects between Teams or my personal space?

A: Not yet. For now, projects live where they were created, either in a Team or personal space.

Billing & Limits

Q: Do I need to pay to create a Team?

A: You’re allowed to own up to one free Team. To create another Team, you’ll need to upgrade either your existing Team or the new one you’re trying to create.

Q: What are pooled AI tokens?

A: AI tokens are shared across all Editors in a Team, and the total scales with your Team’s plan. Viewers do not receive any tokens.

Q: How many projects can I create on the Free plan?

A: You can create up to 5 projects per Team on the Free plan. To create more, you’ll need to upgrade that Team.

Q: How does billing work for Teams?

A: Team billing is centralized. The Owner manages the plan, and paid seats are automatically prorated when you add or remove Editors.

Other

Q: Can I delete a Team?

A: Yes, you can delete a Team. If you need to recover it later, you’ll need to contact Support.

Q: Can I be part of more than one Team?

A: Definitely! You can create or join multiple Teams and easily switch between them from your dashboard.

Q: Will Teams get real-time collaboration?

A: Yes — it’s already live! You and your team can now work on designs together in real time. Edit, add, and adjust designs simultaneously — changes update instantly so everyone stays on the same page.
