About the designer
Aurelia Beatrice, also known as Beatrice Rollercoaster, is a 22-year-old independent brand designer based in Japan. She’s known for her bubbly typography and joyful character illustrations.
12 questions with Beatrice
- Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?
Hello, my name is Aurelia Beatrice, and my artist name is Beatrice Rollercoaster. I’m a 2002 liner, and I am 22 years old! Currently, I’m working as a full-time independent brand designer in my apartment studio. - How did you get started in design? What inspired you to pursue it?
I started this journey back in my university days, majoring in Graphic Design, specializing in branding and typography, graduating in August 2023 with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design after I turned 20 years old. My mom inspired me to pursue it she is always by my side along my journey. She taught me many lessons on how to be a great independent and never give up, even if it’s hard. - What’s your creative style, and how has it evolved over the years?
It all started with my bubbly typography, until one client asked me to do some illustrations for their branding. At first, I was unsure because I’m not specializing in illustrations, but I followed my heart and I accepted that commission. I think that’s what brought my creative style to what it is today. - What do you enjoy most about being a designer?
Meeting lots of different people all around the world (my clients) and getting to work anywhere. - What was the inspiration behind the design bundle you created?
Currently, it’s summer in Japan, and that inspired me. I love drawing characters, so in the design bundle I made 10 characters doing their summer activities like swimming, running with a dog, chilling on a beach, drinking lemon juice, and more. - Can you share a bit about your creative process when building this bundle?
I drew it in my Procreate I think that’s a simple process since I was kind of used to it drawing illustrations. - Who is this bundle perfect for beginners, professionals, or specific industries?
All users can use it, because it’s all about fun summer is fun. They can use it for their social media, design, flyers, etc. - Do you have a favorite template or asset in the bundle? Why?
I do! I love the invitation card template because I love writing letters! - How do you imagine people using your bundle in their own work?
I could imagine them getting creative with the 20 illustrations I draw. - What advice do you have for designers who are just getting started?
Just believe in yourself and have consistency. It will work out. - Any last words for the Kittl community or your followers?
