Typography is native to Kittl. Before we built a design platform, our founders were lettering artists and typeface designers. They understood that typography is the foundation of brilliant design, and Kittl was engineered from day one to make complex typographic work effortless in the browser.<\/p>\n

In November 2024 at Web Summit in Lisbon, we announced our foundational partnership with Monotype. That launch brought over 130 iconic Monotype typefaces<\/a>, including Helvetica®, Avenir®, and Gotham®, into the Kittl library, giving every user immediate access to some of the most recognized typefaces in the world.<\/p>\n

For enterprise teams, Monotype’s value goes far beyond those iconic names. They have built the most comprehensive typography ecosystem in the industry, uniting the world’s leading foundries and independent designers, along with the technical infrastructure to handle that massive scale. Platforms like Monotype Fonts and Monotype Connect give brands a centralized way to discover, license, and govern their typography globally.<\/p>\n

Today, we are expanding our partnership to connect that powerful infrastructure directly to your canvas. The new app links Monotype Connect, where teams organize and govern their licensed type, directly with Kittl. Support for Monotype Fonts follows very soon, so your team’s managed inventory lives right where you design.<\/p>\n

The new app is available in the Kittl app directory and works in tandem with your running Monotype desktop app. Inside Kittl’s editor, your team’s licensed typography sits in a dedicated panel. You can browse your approved fonts, add them directly to your artboards, and immediately work with them. Once on the canvas, your licensed fonts interact seamlessly with Kittl’s full suite of tools. You can shape them with Kittl’s text effects, set them into AI-generated scenes and imagery, and swap a typeface across an entire design in a single step. To lock in brand consistency, these licensed fonts can be saved straight to your Brand in Kittl.<\/p>\n

“Every design tool has a font menu. Almost none of them take type seriously,” says Tobias Saul, Co-founder of Kittl. “We built Kittl around typography, and now the most iconic type library in the world lives inside it.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
